SPORTS ACTIVITIES
Physical education helps students maintain a healthy lifestyle, reduce stress, improve academic performance, and develop social and leadership skills. Participation in sports enhances discipline, cooperation, and confidence, preparing students for both personal and professional success.
The Physical Education Department in a college plays an important role in promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, discipline, leadership, and sportsmanship among students. The department encourages students to actively participate in sports, games, yoga, fitness training, and recreational activities for their overall personality development. Physical education contributes not only to physical health but also improves concentration, teamwork, confidence, and stress management
The College has well established play grounds and infrastructure for sports and games. Our students are divided into Four Houses; each House consisting of a mixed equal number of students from every department, year and class. The Physical Education department organizes several sports and games competitions for these Four Houses, to motivate the students to participate in various inter-collegiate, inter-university and open tournaments.
First-Year Boys’ Sports Meet July 2026 – Volleyball and Cricket
The Department of Physical Education of organized the First-Year Boys’ Sports Meet, featuring Volleyball and Cricket competitions. The event brought together enthusiastic first-year students from various departments, who actively participated and showcased their sporting skills with great passion and determination.
The matches were conducted in a well-organized and competitive environment under the supervision of the Physical Education Department and faculty members. The participants exhibited excellent teamwork, coordination, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the competitions. The event encouraged students to develop physical fitness, leadership qualities, and a spirit of healthy competition while fostering unity among their peers.
The winners and runners-up were felicitated for their commendable performances, and all participants were appreciated for their enthusiastic involvement. The Sports Meet concluded on a successful note, inspiring students to actively engage in sports and promoting the values of fitness, teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.
First-Year Girls’ Sports Meet July 2026 – Throwball and Kho-Kho
The Department of Physical Education successfully organized the First-Year Girls’ Sports Meet featuring Throwball and Kho-Kho competitions. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from first-year students across various departments, who displayed remarkable energy, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The competitions were conducted in a disciplined and friendly atmosphere under the guidance of the Physical Education Department and faculty members. The participants demonstrated excellent coordination, determination, and fair play throughout the matches. SPORTS DAY 2K26
Sri Balaji Arts & Science College, Kolapakkam, Vandalur, Chennai, proudly organized its Sports Day 2K26 on 30th March 2026 at 11:30 AM in the college auditorium with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
The event was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, International Athlete and Para Athletics Champion, whose presence inspired students to embrace determination, resilience, and a competitive spirit. In his motivating address, he highlighted the importance of discipline, perseverance, and physical fitness in achieving success both in sports and in life.
The Sports Day celebration featured various athletic events and competitions conducted over preceding days, showcasing the talent and dedication of students. The program included track and field events, team sports, and individual competitions, where participants displayed remarkable energy, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
